With thousands of practice teams preparing to assess against the RACGP Standards for general practices 5th edition, experienced industry professionals and AGPAL Surveyors, Dr Janet Fryer and Gary Smith will use this session to break down a number of the less prescriptive 5th edition Standards. As the 5th edition Standards are now less prescriptive, this session will provide insights into practical ways your team can demonstrate evidence requirements under this new structure while providing you with key interpretations and applicability.
Gary Smith is an influencer. He has over 30 years’ experience as a practice manager, 20 years as an AGPAL Surveyor and has played an influential role in improving the quality and safety agenda for healthcare locally and internationally. Gary’s work experiences have seen him on numerous national expert committees, influencing and contributing to the development of industry Standards.
Gary is a leader in the professional development of healthcare staff as an Academic Director for UNE Partnerships. Gary holds the position of Chair for Quality Innovation Performance Limited (QIP) and independent Directorships on the Boards of AGPAL, GPW Tasmania and the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.
