Diversity is a reality. Being culturally competent in today’s multicultural and globalised world is essential to provide appropriate care.
This session will show you how you can improve your organisation’s response to culturally and linguistically diverse clients and communities. In particular, you will learn cultural competency strategies and how to incorporate these into services, programs and systems. You will also learn how to improve cultural inclusion and incorporate the cultural competency framework into your organisational structures and policies.
This cultural competency framework can support you to meet the respective cultural responsiveness, quality improvement and diversity planning requirements of a range of standards including the RACGP Standards for general practices 5th edition, QIC Health and Community Services Standards 7th edition, Human Services Standards and the National Standards for Mental Health Services.
